Arada Continues its Charity Support
As part of Arada's ongoing involvement with worthwhile causes in the local community, Arada have been able to support the “Friends of Children in Romania” for the 10th year running. Whilst the children supported are hundreds of miles away the charity founder (Mary Gibson) is close to home and a long standing aquaintance of Arada’s owner John Burgis.
With the bitterly cold winters seen in Romania, coupled with the need for the charity to keep costs to a minimum and the large resources of wood available, Arada’s ability to support the charity is a perfect fit.
To date, Arada has supplied the charity with 6 wood burning stoves to enable the carers and children to keep themselves warm in the lengthy winter periods without the worry of extortionate heating bills. The latest stove to be donated is a Stratford Ecoboiler, which supplies the homes not only with heating but also hot water and is capable of providing a cosy and comfortable home even with frequently seen temperatures of -28°C.
The charity, based in Bridport, Dorset, was founded in 1991 to help care for the deprived and orphaned children from the fall of Ceaucescu. Currently the charity supports and houses 16 children ranging from ages 5 to 15 and ensures that they all attend school and have the love and affection needed.
John Burgis says, “We are proud to support this worthwhile cause and look forward to continuing in the years to come”.
